Tamiya Official Motors for Radio Control Cars
Let us quick blast an untruth you may read on some forums on the internet: Tamiya's TEU101/4/5BK electronic speed controller, as supplied in most kits until 2013, the TEU103/6BK Twin Motor unit supplied in twin motor kits and the TBLE02 unit sold since 2013, WILL NOT run any 23 turn brushed motor, it is only guaranteed to run some. The unit has a finite power capacity and whilst some people have managed to use higher power motors on it, many have melted it in trying!
The Tamiya ESCs are only guaranteed to work correctly with the Tamiya Sport Tuned, GT Tuned, Dirt Tuned, Torque Tune and Lightly Tuned motors. Of these motors, the Sport Tuned is the best value and easiest to maintain, you simply fit it in place of the original motor and forget about it - it's just quicker.
The TZ, RZ, BZ and Super Stock series all require a replacement speed controller in most cases, we suggest an Mtroniks Auto Sport 20.
