PHONES – George Lee Sheridan (‘Phones’) was born on September 15th 2034 in South Carolina. He became fascinated with communication techniques as a small child when his father introduced him to radio. Orphaned in his early teens he dropped out of school, drifting from one job to another until he eventually became a mercenary or 'soldier for hire', but only ever accepting jobs with a true, just and honest cause.

He first encountered Troy Tempest when contracted on an assignment and ended up freeing Troy from his captors after a failed World Navy mission. Troy convinced him to apply to the World Navy Academy where he excelled, and after only a year was awarded a degree with honours in Communications Engineering, at the same time picking up his nickname 'Phones' from his fellow cadets due to his aptitude with hydrophones.

Phones entered the submarine service rapidly rising to the rank of Lieutenant and later transferring to the W.A.S.P.s. He was appointed Hydrophone Operator on ‘Stingray’ at Troy's suggestion, and together with the rest of the crew patrol the high seas both above, but mostly below, the waves, encountering excitement and adventure while protecting the world from the constant threat from hostile undersea nations.
